The 2024 John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois has seen an intense birdie-barrage with C.T. Pan and Aaron Rai tied for the lead at 14 under. Both players have shot impressive rounds of 6-under 65 on Thursday and 8-under 63 on Friday. Rai, an Englishman, is looking for his first PGA Tour win after tying for second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last week. Harry Hall sits alone in third at 13 under, one stroke behind the leaders, with six players tied for fourth and eight players tied for 10th.

The 36-hole cut at the John Deere Classic was set at 5-under 137, with 77 players advancing to the weekend rounds. However, some notable names will be leaving the Quad Cities early. Daniel Berger, who has three missed cuts in his last four starts, is among those leaving early. Nick Dunlap, despite being a betting favorite, did not have his best game and will not be playing the weekend rounds. Matt Kuchar, playing through an injury, tied for 25th in Detroit last week but will also be heading home early.

Other players missing the cut include Harry Higgs, Cameron Champ, Kevin Kisner, Brandt Snedeker, Maverick McNealy, Wesley Bryan, Peter Malnati, and Davis Riley. These players have had varying levels of success and struggles in recent tournaments, with missed cuts and lower finishes impacting their standings on the Tour. As the competition at the John Deere Classic heats up, the leaderboard remains tight, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the tournament.
