Takomo Golf has introduced the 101 irons, a set targeted towards beginners and improving players. Priced at $459 for a 4-PW set, these clubs offer a combination of distance and forgiveness in a hollow-bodied design. While not as soft-feeling as some of Takomo’s other offerings, the 101 irons are a great option for those looking to improve their game without breaking the bank.

Visually, the Takomo 101 irons have a modern and sleek appearance with a chromed-out finish and a minimalistic logo. The clubs feature a small port on the toe of each club, similar to other hollow-bodied designs on the market. While they may appear slightly bulky in the bag, they do not look overwhelming behind the ball, providing confidence for beginners and improving players.

In terms of sound and feel, the 101 irons offer a firmer feel off the clubface compared to Takomo’s forged steel clubs. The sound is described as a “click,” which may not be as pleasing to some players. However, the clubs deliver on their promise of forgiveness and distance, with higher launch and lower spin compared to other models. The substantial amount of offset in the irons can help correct slices and other common mishits.

The Takomo 101 irons straddle the line between player’s distance and game improvement irons, leaning more towards the latter. This makes them suitable for a wide range of players, including those looking for more forgiveness and distance in their game. While they may not offer the soft feel of other Takomo clubs, the 101 irons deliver on performance and value, coming in at a much lower price point than many other sets on the market.

Overall, the Takomo 101 irons are a solid option for golfers looking to improve their game without breaking the bank. With a forgiving design, modern aesthetics, and solid performance, these clubs cater to a wide range of players, making them a versatile choice for beginners and improving golfers. Takomo continues to deliver on its promise of value and quality with the 101 irons, offering a set that won’t disappoint their intended audience.
