Timmy Crawford, a 23-year-old golfer playing in his first PGA Tour-sanctioned event at The Ascendant at TPC Colorado, made history by scoring a hole-in-one on a par-4 during the third round. The par-4 third hole at TPC Colorado is 365 yards with a carry over the water of 336 yards, making it a challenging hole. Crawford’s shot with a driver landed directly in the hole, marking only the fifth hole-in-one on a par-4 in Korn Ferry Tour history.

This incredible feat by Crawford is even more remarkable considering that only one hole-in-one on a par-4 has ever been scored on the PGA Tour, showing the rarity and difficulty of achieving such a feat. The last par-4 ace on the Korn Ferry Tour was 12 years ago by Rob Oppenheim in the 2012 Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Crawford, who spent four seasons at Loyola and transferred to Illinois as a grad student, has shown his skill and potential in golf, setting records and achieving top finishes in college tournaments.

Despite not being a household name in golf, Crawford’s historic achievement at The Ascendant highlights the unpredictability and excitement of the sport. In a game where anything can happen, players like Crawford can make history and leave a lasting impact on the sport. His performance at The Ascendant surpasses his previous accomplishments in college golf, where he set records and achieved top finishes but was unable to crack the starting lineup for his team’s NCAA Championship appearance.

The rarity of par-4 aces on the Korn Ferry Tour further underscores the significance of Crawford’s achievement, adding his name to a short list of golfers who have accomplished this feat. The list of players who have scored par-4 aces on the Korn Ferry Tour includes Chip Beck, Richard S. Johnson, Rahil Gangjee, Rob Oppenheim, and now Timmy Crawford. Crawford’s historic ace at The Ascendant presented by Blue on the third hole at TPC Colorado adds to the lore of incredible moments in professional golf.

Despite not achieving the success he desired in college team competitions, Crawford’s individual accomplishments and historic hole-in-one on a par-4 showcase his talent and potential in the sport. His remarkable shot at The Ascendant demonstrates the unpredictable nature of golf and the ability of skilled players to make history on any given round. For Crawford, this moment will surely be one to remember and cherish as he continues his journey in the world of golf and works towards further success in the sport.
