Scottie Scheffler is two shots back of the lead heading into Open Championship Sunday. Despite his success in golf, he admits that the conditions on Saturday were some of the hardest he has ever played in. The rain and gale-force wind made golfing a survival test for many players, including Justin Rose, who described it as an absolute struggle.

The tagline for this year’s Open Championship, “Forged By Nature,” was evident on Saturday as the weather conditions drastically affected the leaderboard. Shane Lowry, who had a two-shot lead, struggled in the challenging conditions and allowed other players like Sam Burns and Adam Scott to rise up and contend for the Claret Jug.

Lowry, Horschel, Schauffele, Burns, Rose, and other players are highlighted as contenders for the Open Championship title on Sunday. Each player has their reasons for why they could win, from preparation to overcoming challenges on the course. The unpredictable nature of the tournament due to the weather conditions makes it anyone’s game.

Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1, is still in contention despite struggling with his putting throughout the tournament. Players like Thirston Lawrence and Russell Henley have also quietly made their way into the leaderboard, showing that anything can happen in the final round of a major championship.

The Open Championship has been a test of skill and resilience for the players, with many unexpected twists and turns throughout the tournament. As the players head into Sunday’s final round, the competition remains fierce, and the outcome is anyone’s guess. With the leaderboard constantly shifting, it will be an exciting finish to see who will come out on top and lift the Claret Jug.
