Spyglass Hill Golf Course, located on the Monterey Peninsula, is known for its prestigious reputation and high greens fees. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1966, Spyglass has been a fixture on the AT&T Pebble Beach Championship rota since 1967. For resort guests, the greens fees are $495, with an additional cart fee for non-resort guests. However, a new partnership between Pebble Beach Company and Youth on Course now allows kids to play Spyglass for just $5.

Youth on Course is a nonprofit organization that provides young people aged 18 and under with access to affordable opportunities in golf. The partnership between Pebble Beach and Youth on Course has made Pebble Beach the new national headquarters for the Careers on Course internship program. This program offers hands-on training in various aspects of golf course management and operations to Youth on Course members, aiming to foster social, academic, and career growth in the game of golf.

In addition to the internship program, Youth on Course members can now play at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, as well as thousands of other courses in the United States, Canada, and Australia, for just $5. Parents are allowed to accompany kids, but only Youth on Course members can play. As part of the arrangement, Spyglass has set aside one tee time a day for Youth on Course members, which can be booked a week in advance through the Youth on Course app and the GolfNow platform.

The $5 greens fee at Spyglass Hill Golf Course is a significant discount from the regular rate and provides young golfers with a unique opportunity to play at one of the most prestigious courses on the Monterey Peninsula. The discounted rate is available year-round, with the exception of days when events are taking place at the course. The partnership between Pebble Beach and Youth on Course aims to promote the game of golf among young people and provide them with valuable experiences and opportunities within the sport.

Playing at Spyglass Hill Golf Course for $5 is a rare opportunity for youth golfers to experience a world-class course at an affordable price. The partnership between Pebble Beach and Youth on Course not only provides access to discounted greens fees but also offers valuable internships and career opportunities for young people interested in golf course management. By supporting Youth on Course and participating in programs like Careers on Course, young golfers can develop important skills and knowledge that can benefit them both on and off the course.

Overall, the partnership between Pebble Beach Company and Youth on Course represents a significant investment in the future of golf by providing young people with access to affordable opportunities to play and work in the sport. The $5 greens fee at Spyglass Hill Golf Course is just one of the many benefits that Youth on Course members can enjoy as part of this partnership. With the support of organizations like Pebble Beach and programs like Careers on Course, the next generation of golfers has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in the game they love.
