The 2024 Paris Olympics will host the men’s and women’s golf competitions at the Albatros course at Le Golf National outside of Paris. This is the third consecutive year that golf has been included in the Olympic Games, with a long hiatus between its appearances in 1900 and 1904. The tournament format consists of 60 players competing in four rounds of stroke play, starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday.

Qualification for the Olympics is based on the Official World Golf Ranking, with the top 15 players automatically qualifying. However, each country is limited to four players in the field, leading to some notable absences such as U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau. The past winners of the Olympic Games include Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Matt Kuchar, Xander Schauffele, Rory Sabbatini, and C.T. Pan.

The American players participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics include Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Wyndham Clark. Scheffler is the betting favorite to win the gold medal, followed closely by Schauffele, who won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and recently the Open Championship. Other top players competing in the event include Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, and Hideki Mastsuyama.

Despite the absence of Tiger Woods, there are seven LIV Golf players in the field, including Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann. The Albatros course at Le Golf National has previously hosted prestigious events such as the Ryder Cup, where the Europeans defeated the Americans in 2018. Viewers in the United States can watch the action live on Golf Channel starting at 3 a.m. ET from Thursday to Sunday, with the final round replayed at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday on USA Network and available for streaming on Peacock.

Overall, the 2024 Paris Olympics promise to showcase some of the top talents in men’s and women’s golf on a historic stage. The Albatros course at Le Golf National provides a challenging yet scenic backdrop for the competition, with players vying for the coveted gold, silver, and bronze medals. With a diverse field of international stars and rising talents, the tournament is sure to deliver thrilling moments and memorable performances for golf fans worldwide. Stay tuned to witness golf history in the making at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
