2024 TaylorMade P·770 Irons

TaylorMade’s first P·770 iron was released in 2017 as a better-player’s cavity-back iron, but in 2020, it was updated with a hollow-body construction for golfers appreciating a sleek look. The P·770 has been updated again in 2023 and now for 2024, featuring the same script and brushed chrome finish as other P Series irons.

The new P·770 irons are designed for low-handicap golfers seeking a compact head shape with increased ball speed and forgiveness. The topline of the P·770 has been made thinner, and the leading edge of the 3-iron through 7-iron has been smoothed. The irons have a slightly wider sole than some TaylorMade irons, but it is thinner than others, aiding in turf interaction and creating a higher launch angle with long irons.

The hollow chamber of the P·770 is filled with SpeedFoam Air and features an internal tungsten weight in the toe. L-shaped faces forging with 4041 stainless steel ensure flexibility, with the 3-iron through 7-iron having a Speed Pocket slot for increased distance on low-struck shots.

Tungsten weights are strategically positioned in each head to adjust the center of gravity (CG) location based on the club’s design, known as FLTD CG. The P·770 irons feature machined hitting areas and grooves on the face plate, with typical lofts for better-player distance irons.

Compared to other TaylorMade irons, the P·770 is similar in construction to the P·790 but has a smaller, more compact look. It is slightly larger than the P·7CB, offering more forgiveness and stability on off-center hits. The P·770 is priced at $1,399.99 for a set of seven clubs and comes with True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 steel shafts and Golf Pride Z grips.

The new TaylorMade P·770 irons will be available for pre-sale on July 31 and in stores starting on September 6. This latest update from TaylorMade offers enhanced performance, forgiveness, and precision for golfers looking for a premium iron option catering to their specific needs.
