Exploring the Features of PXG Gen7 Black Ops Irons

PXG has recently released their newest line of irons and wedges, including the 0311P and 0311XP Gen7 irons, Black Ops irons, and Sugar Daddy III forged wedges. These clubs were announced early, giving members of the PXG hero program priority access to them. With the new PXG irons and wedges now available, let’s take a closer look at the technology behind these clubs that offer golfers more forgiveness, speed, and feel.

The 0311P and XP Gen7 irons from PXG continue the brand’s distinctive styling while incorporating advancements on the inside to maximize performance up to the USGA limit. These irons feature PXG’s most innovative polymer system, QuantumCOR, which delivers speed and rebound capabilities without compromising on soft feel. The extremely thin face construction coupled with the new QuantumCOR material creates the largest single ball speed and distance jump in PXG’s history.

One of the standout features of the 0311 Gen7 irons is a titanium ring around the middle weight, replacing the standard steel weight housing to fine-tune swing weight and feel. The inclusion of 20 grams of dense tungsten in the toe provides added forgiveness. The 0311P and XP Gen7 irons are now available in chrome and Extreme Dark finishes, starting at $229.99 each.

The Black Ops irons from PXG are a unique addition to the lineup, offering game improvement features while focusing on providing a softer feel at impact. These irons incorporate PXG’s XCOR2 material in a dual cavity design to optimize weight distribution, resulting in enhanced forgiveness and consistency. The wider sole and topline provide extra stability, and the larger hitting area increases flex for greater ball speeds. The Black Ops irons are available now starting at $149.99 each.

The Sugar Daddy III forged wedges are the most significant change to PXG’s wedge line, featuring new shapes from address and grind options for a better fit. The grooves on these wedges have been improved with tighter spacing and an added 16th groove for more consistent launch angles and spin rates. The shaping and geometry of the Sugar Daddy III wedges increase the MOI around the head, providing better mass distribution for improved performance. These wedges come in three grind options and start at $299.99 in chrome and $349.99 in Xtreme Dark finish.

If you’re looking to overhaul your bag for 2024 with the latest PXG irons and wedges, consider visiting a True Spec Golf fitting location near you for a custom fitting experience. With innovative technology and advanced materials, PXG continues to push the boundaries of golf club design to provide golfers with exceptional performance, forgiveness, and feel on the course.
