Scottie Scheffler emerged as the FedEx Cup regular-season leader following his performance at the Wyndham Championship, securing the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 title for the second time in three years. This victory earned Scheffler an impressive $8 million bonus before he even teed off at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis. This double the amount of last year’s winner, Jon Rahm, who earned $3 million for first place.

Following Scheffler in the rankings were Xander Schauffele in second place, who received a $6 million bonus, Rory McIlroy with $4.8 million, Collin Morikawa with $4.4 million, and Wyndham Clark rounding out the top five with $4 million in bonuses. Scheffler has had a stellar year, having already earned a record-breaking $28,148,691 this season with six victories, including wins at the Masters and The Players Championship. Notably, he also shot a stellar 62 in the final round to secure the Olympic gold medal.

With the potential to earn a share of $115 million in combined purses from upcoming events like the St. Jude Classic, the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club, and the Tour Champions at East Lake in Atlanta, Scheffler’s on-course earnings could surpass $53 million if he manages to sweep all three events. As of now, the $36 million in earnings from his Tour Top 10 victory alone would already place Scheffler in the top 40 of the PGA Tour’s career money list, where he is currently ranked seventh and inching towards sixth-place Vijay Singh.

Scheffler’s recent success has solidified his position as one of the top earners in PGA Tour history, making significant strides in only a few short years. As he continues to climb the ranks and accumulate victories, his earnings are expected to further increase, potentially cementing his legacy as one of the sport’s most successful and prosperous players. With his impressive bonus winnings and upcoming tournament purses, Scheffler is on track to become an enduring force in the world of professional golf.
