The FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis faced a delay for its third round due to expected thunderstorms in the area. The round was scheduled to start at TPC Southwind, but PGA Tour officials decided to push back the tee times to approximately 9:45 a.m. on Saturday to ensure the safety of the players and spectators.

During the first two rounds, the field of 70 players teed off in pairs every 10 minutes starting at 7:20 a.m. However, for the third round, players will now tee off in groups of three on both the first and tenth holes from 9:45-11:45 a.m. This adjustment was made to accommodate the delayed start time and allow for a smoother transition for the players.

Weather-related adjustments are not uncommon for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, as extreme heat and thunderstorms have disrupted the tournament in the past. Despite these challenges, the tournament has always managed to reach a successful conclusion, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of both the organizers and participants.

After the first round, Chris Kirk held a one-stroke lead with an impressive 6-under-par performance. The momentum continued on the second day, with Denny McCarthy, Sam Burns, and Viktor Hovland all shooting 7-under to climb up the leaderboard and put themselves in contention for the championship.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship is a highly anticipated event on the PGA Tour, attracting top players and golf enthusiasts from around the world. With its challenging course and competitive field, the tournament always promises excitement and drama as the best golfers in the world battle it out for the coveted title.

Despite the weather delay, fans can still look forward to an exciting finish to the FedEx St. Jude Championship as the players resume play on Saturday. The tournament has a history of producing thrilling moments and memorable performances, and this year promises to be no different as the players compete for glory and a chance to etch their names in golfing history.

As the tournament unfolds, spectators can expect to witness intense competition, clutch shots, and strategic gameplay from the world-class field of players. The FedEx St. Jude Championship is not just a golf tournament; it is a showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship that captivates audiences and inspires fans of the game.

With the delay in the third round, the stakes are even higher as players strive to make up ground and position themselves for a shot at victory. Every stroke counts in golf, and the pressure will be on the contenders to deliver their best performance under challenging conditions and in the face of strong competition.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship is not just a sporting event; it is a celebration of excellence, perseverance, and passion for the game of golf. The tournament’s rich history, iconic venue, and stellar lineup of players make it a must-watch event for golf fans and sports enthusiasts alike, as they witness the drama and excitement unfold on the course.

In the end, the FedEx St. Jude Championship is more than just a golf tournament; it is a testament to the spirit of competition, the thrill of victory, and the camaraderie of the sport.
