In this week’s edition of the Rogers Report, we are gearing up for an exciting week in golf with the PGA Tour Playoffs and the AIG Women’s Open at the Old Course. The Women’s Open has a nostalgic feel, especially after a trip to St. Andrews to document the Notre Dame men’s and women’s golf teams at the St. Andrews Collegiate. Scotland’s beauty is captivating, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy when not on the golf course.

At the FedEx St. Jude Championship, best pals Sam Burns and Scottie Scheffler welcomed new children to their families, with Bear Burns and Bennett Scheffler making appearances at the tournament. Bear Burns had a front-row seat to watch the best golfers in the world, while Bennett Scheffler enjoyed a great view of his father teeing it up with the help of Sam Burns and other PGA Tour bros. These moments of camaraderie and support among the players and their families add a heartwarming element to the tournament.

Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, typically seen as more serious on the golf course, showcased their fun side during the tournament in Memphis. With their wholesome baby content and a funny interaction in the flash zone, they proved to be the early contenders for Playoff Content kings this year. Schauffele, in particular, displayed a media-savvy approach and had some fun with the PGA Tour’s social team, showing a balance between seriousness on the golf course and relaxation off it.

During the tournament, Scottie Scheffler made a sweet gesture by taking time to chat with nine-year-old Liliana on the 18th green. After going through significant health challenges, Liliana served as an honorary flag holder at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, creating an unforgettable memory for everyone involved. These interactions between players and young fans add a humanizing touch to the game and showcase the caring side of professional golfers.

The return of Shota Hayafuji, Hideki Matsuyama’s caddie and coach, after a passport issue following the Paris Olympics, was a welcomed sight. Known for his respectful gestures and unique presence on the course, Hayafuji’s return to loop for Matsuyama at the BMW Championship was met with enthusiasm. His previous viral moments, such as bowing on the 18th green at Augusta National and enjoying the action at the Genesis Invitational, have made him a fan favorite and his comeback was met with excitement from the golf community.

As the PGA Tour Playoffs and the AIG Women’s Open continue, the golf world is abuzz with excitement and anticipation. With heartwarming moments, entertaining content, and the return of beloved figures like Shota Hayafuji, the tournaments are set to be filled with memorable experiences and exceptional golf. Stay tuned for more updates, highlights, and stories from the world of golf in the weeks to come.
