Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado has not hosted a PGA Tour event in 18 years, but many believe it is long overdue for another tournament. The 2024 BMW Championship took place about 30 miles south of Denver with a field of 50 golfers, including Jason Day and Adam Scott who were the only returnees from the last time the Tour was held at the club in 2006. Dean Wilson emerged as the winner in a playoff over Tom Lehman in 2006, with other notable victors during the tournament’s 21-year run including Davis Love III, Phil Mickelson, and Ernie Els.

The future of the BMW Championship returning to Castle Pines Golf Club is uncertain, as the next three BMW events are already scheduled. However, the event does move each year, so there is a possibility that it may return to this picturesque venue in the future. Golf fans can take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about the 2006 International, where memorable moments and victories took place on the historic course. With a rich history dating back to 1899, the BMW Championship holds a special place as the oldest event on the PGA Tour.

Castle Pines Golf Club offers a challenging and stunning course for players and spectators alike. Located in a beautiful setting, the club provides a unique backdrop for golf tournaments and has hosted many prestigious events in the past. The 2024 BMW Championship featured a talented field of golfers competing for a chance to win in the penultimate event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the tournament.

The return of the BMW Championship to Castle Pines Golf Club has sparked interest and nostalgia among golf enthusiasts who remember the past tournaments held at the course. The 2006 International saw intense competition and memorable moments, with Dean Wilson claiming his only PGA Tour win in a playoff victory. With past champions like Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, and Ernie Els, the tournament has a rich history of showcasing top talent and thrilling performances on the course.
