The International Presidents Cup team is halfway set, with the top six PGA Tour members automatically qualifying at the conclusion of the BMW Championship. The remaining spots will be determined by Captain Mike Weir’s selections, to be announced on September 3rd. The team will compete at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada from September 24-29.

Hideki Matsuyama, a 32-year-old Japanese star, will be representing the International Team for the sixth time. Matsuyama has captured two wins this season and has a career record of 7-10-5. Tom Kim, a 22-year-old South Korean, was a standout in the 2022 Presidents Cup and will be making his second appearance. Sungjae Im has been a strong competitor in previous Presidents Cups, boasting an undefeated record in Sunday Singles play.

Jason Day, a 36-year-old Australian, will be making his fifth appearance on the team, with 13 PGA Tour wins under his belt. Adam Scott, a 44-year-old Australian, will be making a record 11th start for the International Team, with 21 points in 49 career matches. Byeong-Hun An is returning for his second appearance on the team after playing in all five matches at the 2019 Presidents Cup.

The selection process required players to compete in a certain number of OWGR-rated events over a specified time period. The six automatic qualifiers were determined at the BMW Championship, with the remaining spots being chosen by the team captain. With one more event at the Tour Championship, players have a final opportunity to impress and secure a spot on the team.

The International Presidents Cup team will face off against the United States team at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada. The competition is slated to take place from September 24-29. The team is made up of a diverse group of talented golfers from around the world, each bringing their own unique skills and experience to the event.

The tournament will see the top golfers from both teams competing in a series of matches to determine the winner. The International Team will be led by Captain Mike Weir, who will make his final selections to round out the 12-man roster. The event promises to be an exciting showcase of skill and sportsmanship on the golf course.

Overall, the International Presidents Cup team is shaping up to be a formidable force in the upcoming competition. With a mix of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talent, the team is poised to give the United States team a run for their money. Golf fans can look forward to an exciting and competitive event that will showcase the best of international golf talent.
