Striped TaylorMade TP5 and TP5x Golf Balls

TaylorMade’s Tour Response Stripe, released in 2022, received positive feedback from golfers for its visual technology, specifically the 360-degree Clear Path alignment aid. Consumers were impressed with the aid’s ability to help golfers zero in on their target. Mike Fox, TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation, noted the high demand for the Stripe technology on flagship models TP5 and TP5x, indicating that the visual aid was effective in improving alignment for golfers, especially from longer distances.

Stripe technology is designed to make it easier for golfers to see their line clearly, particularly from distances over 12 feet. The 22-millimeter line helps golfers lock in on their line and provides a clearer visual aid for putting. As demand for Stripe technology continued to increase, TaylorMade considered expanding its footprint beyond the Tour Response model. However, developing a new Stripe product required time, resources, and equipment that did not exist anywhere else in the world, making it a challenge to bring to market.

After years of discussions and behind-the-scenes work, TaylorMade introduced TP5 Stripe and TP5x Stripe golf balls. These new models feature a clear 22-millimeter digital band with a thin black line on either side of the TaylorMade logo for additional alignment aid. The Stripe technology is positioned as a Tour-validated visual alignment aid and is designed to cater to the preferences of better players who seek alignment benefits in their Tour-level offerings.

Tommy Fleetwood and Dustin Johnson have begun using the Stripe technology during practice sessions, with plans to potentially use the balls in competition in the future. TaylorMade staffers will also have the opportunity to test the ball later in the year. The black-and-white version of Stripe on TP5 and TP5x was chosen based on the preferences of better players, as they were more interested in alignment benefits rather than colorful visual aids.

The TP5 Stripe and TP5x Stripe balls are currently available for pre-order through Fairway Jockey for $57.99 per dozen. The clear 22mm digital band and additional alignment aid make the Stripe technology a popular choice among golfers looking to enhance their alignment on the course. With feedback from pros and consumers alike, TaylorMade continues to innovate and improve their products to meet the needs of golfers who seek improved visual aids for alignment on the green.
