The 2024 Tour Championship is about to kick off in Atlanta, but before the main event, the newly-restored East Lake Golf Club hosted The Creator Classic, an event involving 16 golf content creators. Some of the players included in this event were Wesley and George Bryan, Garrett Clark of Good Good, Fat Perez of Bob Does Sports, and Paige Spiranac. The changes to East Lake have added a significant amount of difficulty, making it interesting to see how the creators navigate the historic club. The event took place on the back nine and consisted of eight holes of gross stroke play, followed by a playoff between the top four finishers.

Former Oklahoma Sooner college golfer Luke Kwon emerged victorious in The Creator Classic, making a birdie on the 18th hole to secure the win. The format included eight holes of stroke play, with the top four advancing to the 18th hole to determine the champion. The final-hole test reset the scores, with the winner being the one with the lowest score on the last hole.

One of the participants in the Creator Classic, Roger Steele, shared a blast from the past on social media, featuring a photo of him at 5 years old being coached by a 17-year-old Tiger Woods. The nine-hole competition continued, with Wesley Bryan leading the leaderboard at 2 under par. Other notable players included Brad Dalke, Micah Morris, Roger Steele, and Sean Walsh, all at 1 under par.

During the event, there were memorable moments, such as the first birdie of the day by Garrett Clark. Viewership for the Creator Classic was significant, with thousands tuning in to watch the action unfold. The event also drew a packed crowd at the first tee, with various cameras capturing the excitement.

The Creator Classic kicked off with a ceremonial tee shot by BarstoolSports’ Riggs, Frankie, and Trent. Participants like Fat Perez, Peter Feter Finch, and Aimee Cho warmed up for the event on the practice green. PGA Tour players, including Keegan Bradley, offered advice and encouragement to the content creators as they prepared for the competition.

As the event approached, PGA Tour players took guesses on what the creators would shoot at East Lake. Preparation was underway, with players like Tommy Fleetwood practicing alongside Luke Kwon. The Creator Classic was set to begin streaming on the PGA Tour’s YouTube Channel, Peacock, and ESPN+ at 4 p.m. ET.

Overall, The Creator Classic at East Lake Golf Club was a successful and entertaining event, showcasing the talent of golf content creators and providing viewers with an exciting competition to watch. The participation of well-known personalities like Wesley and George Bryan, Paige Spiranac, and Fat Perez added to the event’s appeal. The unique format and competitive spirit of the creators made for an engaging and enjoyable experience for both participants and viewers alike.
