The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoff finale is underway, and Scottie Scheffler is dominating with a seven-shot lead at the East Lake Golf Club. Scheffler shot a first-round 65 and is now sitting at 16 under after starting at 10 under due to the PGA Tour’s staggered strokes format. This makes him the first golfer on record to hold such a significant lead after 18 holes since 1983. Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa are tied for second at 9 under, with Morikawa set to join Scheffler in the final group for the second-round tee times.

Other players who shot 66 in the first round include Adam Scott, Taylor Pendrith, Aaron Rai, and Justin Thomas. The winner of the Tour Championship will take home a $25 million bonus, making it a highly lucrative event for the players. The tee times for the second round are not based on the leaderboard standings but on the first-round scores, ensuring an exciting mix of players in each group.

Fans can catch all the action of the Tour Championship on ESPN+, Golf Channel, and NBC. Viewers can tune in to see the competition unfold from Friday to Sunday, with Sirius XM also providing coverage of the tournament. The exclusive home of PGA Tour Live is ESPN+, while Golf Channel is available for free on Fubo. Whether watching on TV or listening on the radio, there are plenty of options to stay updated on the latest developments at East Lake Golf Club.

On Friday, various players will be teeing off at different times, with notable pairings including Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Billy Horschel, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, and Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa. The second round promises to be just as thrilling as the first, with top golfers vying for the prestigious title and the massive prize money that comes with it. With the leaderboard constantly changing, fans can expect plenty of drama and excitement as the tournament progresses.

The Tour Championship is not just a competition for the players but also a spectacle for the fans, who can enjoy the action on the course or from the comfort of their homes. With the stakes higher than ever and the field stacked with talent, the 2024 edition of the Tour Championship is shaping up to be a memorable event. From the stunning shots to the intense rivalries, there is no shortage of entertainment for golf enthusiasts to savor during the tournament.

As the second round gets underway, all eyes will be on Scottie Scheffler as he looks to maintain his lead and secure victory at the Tour Championship. With players like Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa hot on his heels, Scheffler will need to stay focused and continue delivering strong performances to come out on top. The battle for the FedEx Cup is heating up, and the excitement is palpable as the world’s best golfers compete for glory on the grand stage of East Lake Golf Club.
