GOLF’s latest collection of must-play courses has been released, featuring the best golf courses in America that are $100 or less to play. These courses are accessible to the public and offer a great golf experience at affordable rates. Legendary architect Donald Ross has the most course-design credits on the list, followed by other renowned architects such as Robert Trent Jones Sr., A.W. Tillinghast, Pete Dye, and Robert Trent Jones Jr. The list includes courses like George Wright, Jeffersonville, and Triggs Memorial designed by Ross, as well as courses from other top architects.

Some of the highest-priced courses on the list, with weekend walking rates up to $100, are located on the RTJ Golf Trail in Alabama, including Capitol Hill (Senator), Highland Oaks, and Grand National. Other courses on the list offer rates under $40, with options like Buffalo Dunes in Kansas, Fort Myers County Club in Florida, Palatka in Florida, Aiken in South Carolina, and more. The list includes a wide range of affordable options for golfers looking to play quality courses without breaking the bank.

The list also features courses that have hosted major events in the past or have recently been used for significant tournaments. Chaska Town Course in Minnesota, a recent co-host for the 2024 U.S. Amateur, is among the courses included in the list. Wild Horse Golf Club in Nebraska, ranked 49th on GOLF’s latest Top 100 Courses You Can Play ranking, is also featured on the list of must-play courses.

The selection process for the list included recommendations from GOLF raters, editors, industry experts, and golfers like you. Approximately 40 percent of the courses on the list are owned by municipalities, with many of them appearing on previous rankings of the best municipal golf courses in America. States like California, Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, and New York are well-represented on the list, with a total of 35 states featured. Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly course near you or seeking to explore new golfing destinations, this list offers a variety of options for golfers of all levels.

If you’re interested in finding an affordable golf course in your area, GOLF.com’s new Course Finder tool can help you discover all the options available to you. You can search for courses based on criteria like price, course type, and location to find the perfect match for your preferences. With a diverse selection of courses from legendary architects and scenic locations across the country, the list of America’s best golf courses for $100 or less offers something for every golfer looking to enjoy a memorable round without breaking the bank.
