Greig Hutcheon, a Scottish golfer, won the Legends Open de France with a stunning course record 64, coming from behind to secure victory by two shots. Despite starting the final round four shots off the lead, Hutcheon made nine birdies to finish with a total of -13, enough to beat out overnight leader Simon Khan and Scott Hend, who finished tied second with -11.

The La Forêt course at Le Touquet was host to a birdie-fest during the tournament, with as many as 15 players having a realistic chance of winning as the dramatic final round unfolded. Hutcheon began well with birdies on the 1st and 3rd holes, later dropping a shot on the 5th but recovering with a birdie on the 6th. He then surged into the lead with four consecutive birdies starting from the 9th hole.

After three consecutive pars, Hutcheon further solidified his lead with back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th holes. Although narrowly missing a birdie on the final hole, his impressive 64 set the clubhouse target at -13. Despite efforts from Khan, Hend, and Robert Coles to catch up, they were unable to secure enough birdies to force a playoff.

Hutcheon expressed his delight at his victory, highlighting his perseverance through injuries and challenges in his golf career. The three-time Challenge Tour winner finished eighth on the MCB Road to Mauritius in his rookie season the year prior and now sits in seventh place on this year’s standings following his first win on the circuit at 51 years old.

Overall, Hutcheon’s stunning performance at the Legends Open de France showcased his skill and determination on the golf course. His ability to come from behind and secure victory with a record-breaking round demonstrates his experience and talent in the sport. With this win, Hutcheon has positioned himself as a strong competitor on the tour and a force to be reckoned with in future tournaments.
