The 19th playing of the Solheim Cup took place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. Last year, the U.S. and Europe tied for the first time in the event’s history, allowing Europe to keep the Cup for the third straight meeting. Team USA was predicted to win this year due to factors such as home-crowd advantage, Lexi Thompson’s potential last appearance, and a balanced team with a mix of youthful fire and experience.

Team Europe has been dominant in recent years in the Solheim Cup, with players like Carlota Ciganda standout performances like last year. Players like Lexi Thompson and Jennifer Kupcho were anticipated to be important for the American team, while Lilia Vu was expected to lead the charge. Nelly Korda was predicted to be the MVP for the event, showcasing her skills and dominance on the golf course.

Golf’s upcoming made-for-TV match will feature Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler against Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in Las Vegas. This matchup is designed to capitalize on the ongoing rift between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, with hopes of boosting ratings and generating interest. The match is expected to be entertaining and feature top players from both circuits.

The PGA Tour vs. LIV Golf match serves as a mini-treaty between the two sides and could potentially pave the way for future collaborations or deals. While the outcome of these events may not directly impact negotiations between the tours, they provide entertaining content for fans and could lead to improved ratings and viewership.

LIV Golf has announced dates and venues for its first four tournaments in 2025, all of which will coincide with major PGA Tour events. This scheduling decision is seen as a strategic move by LIV to compete with the Tour and establish its presence in the golf world. However, it is unlikely to significantly impact the Tour’s viewership or popularity.

The recent release of America’s best golf courses under $100 has sparked discussion among golf enthusiasts. Courses like George Wright in Boston and The Aiken Golf Club in South Carolina have been highlighted for their value and quality. Affordable options like Bethpage Black in New York also provide golfers with the opportunity to play on top-tier courses without breaking the bank.
