Patton Kizzire claimed victory at the 2024 Procore Championship in Napa, CA, marking his third career win on the PGA Tour. The event, held at Silverado, is a longstanding stop on the tour and serves as the kickoff for the FedEx Fall season. Kizzire’s victory solidified his position as a player to watch as the regular season approaches.

The 38-year-old former Auburn standout had previously won twice on tour but had not tasted victory since the 2018 Sony Open. His dominant performance at the Procore Championship showcased his talent and competitive spirit, as he finished five strokes ahead of David Lipsky, who secured his Tour card with a strong showing. The leaderboard was tightly packed behind Lipsky, with Patrick Fishburn finishing solo third at -14.

Canadian players Ben Silverman and Mackenzie Hughes, along with Greyson Sigg, tied for fourth place at -13. A larger group of players finished T7 at -12, including Tom Hoge, Austin Smotherman, Justin Lower, Corey Conners, and defending champion Sahith Theegala. Theegala, despite already having the credentials to play in major tournaments, expressed his love for competition and participating in Fall events.

Notable names in the field included Keith Mitchell, former US Amateur runner-up Neal Shipley, golf course architect Zac Blair, and Min Woo Lee. The PGA Tour will now take a break for the Presidents Cup before resuming with the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, MS, on October 3. Luke List is the defending champion at that event.

Kizzire’s victory showcased his skill and determination as he aims to make an impact in the upcoming regular season. His victory also highlighted the competitive nature of the FedEx Fall season, where players strive to solidify their standing and improve their positioning for the tournaments ahead. The Procore Championship served as a platform for both rising stars and seasoned veterans to showcase their talent and competitiveness.

As Kizzire basks in the glory of his victory, golf fans and analysts will be keeping a close eye on his performance in the upcoming tournaments. His successful outing at the Procore Championship has put him in a strong position heading into the regular season and has solidified his status as a contender to watch. With the PGA Tour set to resume in October, the stage is set for an exciting season of competitive golf.
