Larry David, known for playing a fictionalized version of himself on the sitcom “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” is actually very similar to his on-screen character according to Cooper Manning, the older brother of NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning. Manning recently appeared on the GOLF Subpar podcast and described David as being just as you would expect him to be on the golf course. The two played together at Cherry Hills in Colorado during a practice round for an event hosted by Peyton Manning.

During their round, Cooper Manning observed that Larry David excelled when things went wrong on the course and he became agitated. Even on the first hole, David was already getting frustrated with his putting. Manning recalled a moment where David became upset with his caddie after receiving advice on a shot, demonstrating his tendency to get flustered. Despite the outbursts, it was unclear whether David’s behavior was serious or part of his comedic persona.

The practice round came to a premature end after nine holes when Larry David decided he did not need to see the back nine. Cooper Manning noted that David was always ready for action and seemed content with ending the round early. On the GOLF Subpar podcast, Manning also discussed the reasoning behind his son Arch’s decision to attend the University of Texas for college. The full episode of the podcast provides more insights into Cooper Manning’s experiences with Larry David on the golf course.

Jack Hirsh, the Golf.com editor, shared details about Cooper Manning’s appearance on the GOLF Subpar podcast. Hirsh highlighted Cooper Manning’s observations of Larry David’s behavior during their round at Cherry Hills, emphasizing David’s comedic tendencies on the course. As an assistant editor at GOLF, Hirsh provided background information on Cooper Manning’s golf background, including his time as captain of his high school golf team. With a degree in broadcast journalism and political science, Jack Hirsh brings a unique perspective to golf reporting.
