PXG has recently launched two new golf ball models, the PXG Xtreme Tour and PXG Xtreme Tour X, to build on the success of their original Xtreme golf ball. These new offerings cater to different player preferences, with the Tour being softer and the Tour X featuring a firmer feel. The Tour is ideal for players with swing speeds under 95 MPH, while the Tour X is better suited for faster swinging players.

In terms of feel, the new PXG Xtreme Tour and Xtreme Tour X golf balls exhibit slight differences from the original Xtreme. The Tour X offers a firmer feel, while the Tour provides a softer touch. Both balls offer a crisp and responsive feel off wedges and irons, with the Tour X being louder and firmer compared to the Tour. Compression ratings for the new balls are reported to be softer than the original, with the Tour X at 108 and the Tour at 97.8.

When it comes to the short game, the PXG Xtreme Tour X demonstrates higher spin rates compared to the XTreme Tour, making it a preferred choice for players seeking greater spin control. PXG’s data analysis shows that the Tour X is the highest spinning model in their lineup, outperforming the Tour by approximately 200 RPM. The brand also provides comparisons to popular Pro V1 models, showcasing similar spin rates but slightly higher ball speeds and apex heights with the PXG balls.

In long game testing, both the PXG Xtreme Tour and Tour X deliver consistent ball speed and ample spin characteristics, ideal for iron shots. The Tour X shows a minor improvement in spin rates compared to the Tour, resulting in slightly longer distances off the tee. PXG’s testing reveals small ball speed advantages for the Tour X over the Tour, translating to a 2.5-yard gain for players with 100 MPH swing speeds. The yellow version of the Xtreme Tour exhibits slight differences in spin rates compared to the white version.

In conclusion, PXG’s commitment to producing premium golf balls is evident with the launch of the Xtreme Tour and Xtreme Tour X models. These offerings cater to a wide range of player preferences and swing speeds, aiming to make a significant impact in the competitive golf ball market. Whether you prefer a softer feel (Tour) or a firmer touch (Tour X), PXG’s new offerings provide superior performance across all aspects of the game, showcasing the brand’s dedication to innovation and excellence in golf ball technology.
