The 10th playing of The Match was announced earlier this month, featuring Charles Barkley and seven sports and entertainment celebrities at Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The lineup includes actor Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg, Wayne Gretzky, Nate Bargatze, Michael Phelps, Ken Griffey Jr., and Blake Griffin. The format will consist of scramble matches followed by singles matches, with the winning team taking home a million dollars. Celebrity golf has always been popular, and the absence of professional golfers in this event aligns with the rise of YouTube golf content and the scheduling of the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic.

Another high-profile match, featuring Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler against Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, is scheduled for December 17 at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. This match, produced by the same group as The Match, will not carry the same branding but promises to deliver an exciting competition. Bubba Watson from LIV Golf will be part of the broadcast team for The Match, providing insightful analysis alongside other notable commentators. The Match has a history of exciting matchups, with previous editions featuring iconic golfers and celebrity pairings engaging in friendly competition.

The upcoming event will mark the 10th edition of The Match, with memorable matches such as Mickelson vs. Woods in 2019 and Manning vs. Brady in 2020 among the highlights. The match has evolved over the years, featuring various formats and pairing combinations to keep fans entertained. Viewers can catch the action on TNT and Max, with primetime coverage ensuring maximum exposure for the event. While celebrity golf may not appeal to everyone, the relaxed atmosphere and familiar faces can make for an enjoyable viewing experience.

As the event approaches, fans can look forward to watching their favorite celebrities and athletes showcase their skills on the golf course. The friendly competition and lighthearted banter between the players add to the entertainment value of The Match, providing a refreshing break from traditional golf tournaments. Whether you’re a die-hard golf fan or just looking for some evening entertainment, The Match offers a unique experience that combines sports and entertainment in an engaging format. Stay tuned for updates on the event and mark your calendars for a captivating display of talent and camaraderie on the greens.
