Taylor Montgomery, a golfer on the PGA Tour, is in desperate need of a good week to improve his rankings in the season-long points race. With only three events remaining, Montgomery is running out of time to make it into the top 125. To boost his chances, he enlisted the help of his father, Monte Montgomery, who is the director of golf at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, to be his caddie for the World Wide Technology Championship. However, after a strong start on the course designed by Tiger Woods, Monte had to bow out due to not feeling well. Hall of Fame outfielder Larry Walker stepped in to carry Taylor’s bag for the remainder of the round.

Despite the caddie switch, Taylor Montgomery had an impressive day on the course, making birdies on the first three holes and finishing the round with a 4-under 68. This score put him just one stroke behind the leader, with a total of seven birdies on the day. Montgomery, a World Wide Technology ambassador, expressed his love for Diamante, where the tournament was held, and credited his familiarity with the course for his success. He also had a supportive entourage following him, including his mother, sister, fiancée, and baseball legend Roger Clemens.

Larry Walker, who is a part-time resident at Diamante, seamlessly took over as Taylor Montgomery’s caddie after Monte Montgomery had to step down. Walker, a former outfielder for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, and St. Louis Cardinals, was impressed with Montgomery’s skills and his familiarity with the course. Despite a minor setback with a double bogey, Montgomery managed to finish strong with birdies on the 15th and 18th holes. This marked his fifth consecutive sub-70 score at Diamante, further solidifying his affinity for the course.

Throughout the round, the camaraderie between Montgomery, Walker, and their supporters was evident. After the round, they enjoyed a meal at The Woods: Cabo, where Clemens jokingly congratulated Walker on his caddying skills and indicated that the next person in line to carry the bag would be Montgomery’s mother. This lighthearted banter showcased the supportive atmosphere surrounding Montgomery as he strives for success on the PGA Tour. Despite the challenges he has faced in previous events, Montgomery’s determination and familiarity with the course at Diamante provide hope for a strong finish in the remaining events of the season.

As Montgomery navigates the pressure of the season-long points race, he relies on the support of his family, friends, and celebrity caddies to boost his performance. With the help of Larry Walker and the encouragement of his loved ones, Montgomery was able to showcase his skills and maintain a competitive edge in the World Wide Technology Championship. As the tournament progresses, Montgomery’s ability to capitalize on his strengths and navigate the challenges of the course will be crucial in securing a top finish. With his father’s guidance and the support of his entourage, Montgomery remains determined to make a strong impact in the final events of the season.
