Review of the Fujikura PRO Black Shaft

The Fujikura PRO Black shaft is a low launch, low spin option that provides a strong, stable ball flight without the extreme stiffness of other low/low shafts. It is designed for players who want a more approachable option compared to the Ventus Black, which is known for its extreme stability and low launch and spin characteristics.

Visually, the Fujikura PRO Black features a unique spiraling geometric design in black on a silver shaft. The branding is minimal, with the “PRO” logo and shaft specs in black at the middle of the shaft. The underside of the shaft is free of graphics, allowing for a clean look at address.

In terms of feel, the Fujikura PRO Black offers a surprising kick just below the grip, making it feel more active than typical low/low shafts. The shaft is stiff in the butt, firm in the middle, and stiff in the tip, providing a unique feel that appeals to players looking for a balance between stability and flexibility.

In performance testing, the Fujikura PRO Black produced a strong, boring ball flight with low spin. It excelled in maintaining stability on mishits and offered some flexibility for players looking to shape shots. The shaft is available in three weight classes (60, 70, and 80 grams) with stiff and X-flex options, catering to a range of player profiles.

Overall, the Fujikura PRO Black is a friendly option for players seeking a low launch, low spin shaft without the extreme stiffness of other models. It provides a smoother, more active feel while still delivering the desired ball flight characteristics. Golfers looking to improve their game should consider trying out the Fujikura PRO Black during their next driver fitting.
