Francesco Molinari has had a rough year in 2024, missing eight cuts in his first 13 PGA Tour events and sitting at 207th in FedEx Cup points. However, at the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Molinari has had a strong showing with two rounds of 68 and 66, putting him in contention at tied for third after the second round. The Italian player has had a nice bounce-back week, showcasing consistent play and solid iron shots that have given him plenty of birdie opportunities on the course.

Molinari’s second round at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship was particularly strong, with his iron play standing out as a key factor in his success. He described hitting a great 4-iron shot on the downhill par 3 13th hole, landing it just five feet from the pin. This shot was a highlight of his round and helped him secure a position near the top of the leaderboard. Overall, Molinari’s performance this week has impressed many, especially after his struggles earlier in the year.

The last time Molinari caught the attention of golf fans was at the U.S. Open, where he made an incredible hole-in-one on the final hole of his round. This shot helped him make the cut and play on the weekend at Pinehurst, showcasing his ability to come through in clutch moments. While Molinari may not need any aces to succeed at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, his consistent play and strong iron shots have put him in a good position to potentially contend for the title.

As Molinari looks to continue his strong performance at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, he will need to focus on hitting more fairways and greens to give himself the best chance at success. With his recent struggles on the PGA Tour, a strong showing at this event could provide a much-needed confidence boost for the former Open Championship winner. Despite his difficulties earlier in the year, Molinari’s skill and experience on the course are evident in his play this week, showing that he has the potential to bounce back and compete at the highest level once again.

In conclusion, Francesco Molinari’s performance at the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship demonstrates his ability to overcome adversity and showcase his talent on the golf course. With strong iron play and consistent scoring, he has put himself in contention at the tournament and has the opportunity to improve his standing in the FedEx Cup points race. As he continues to compete in PGA Tour events, Molinari will look to build on his success in Bermuda and regain the form that made him a major champion in 2018. With his determination and skill, Molinari has the potential to turn his season around and make a strong push towards the top of the leaderboard in future events.
