The 2024 PNC Championship is set to feature a lineup of major champions and their relatives, including the debut of Fred Couples and Trevor Immelman. Couples will be partnering with his 16-year-old stepson, Hunter Hannemann, while Immelman will be pairing with his 18-year-old son Jacob Immelman. The event, which is scheduled for December 19-22 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, is a two-day, 36-hole scramble where players compete for the Willie Park Trophy.

Among the 18 teams announced for the event are familiar names such as Lee Trevino, who has participated in every edition of the championship, as well as defending champions Bernhard Langer and his son Jason. However, one notable absence from the lineup so far is Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. Woods, who has played in the tournament for the past four years and finished as a runner-up in 2021, is currently recovering from back surgery and his participation in both the PNC Championship and his Hero World Challenge event in the Bahamas is uncertain.

The PNC Championship requires one member of each team to be a major champion, while their partner must not hold any playing status on a professional Tour. This unique format has led to an exciting field of competitors for this year’s event, including the likes of Stewart Cink and his son Connor, John Daly and his son John Daly II, and Nick Faldo with his son Matthew Faldo.

Other notable pairings for the 2024 PNC Championship include Nelly Korda and her father Petr Korda, Matt Kuchar with his son Carson Kuchar, and Annika Sorenstam teaming up with her son Will McGee. The event not only provides fans with an opportunity to see their favorite major champions compete alongside their family members, but also helps to showcase the talent and potential of the next generation of golfers.

The PNC Championship has become a popular event on the PGA Tour calendar, offering a unique and entertaining experience for players and fans alike. With a field of 20 teams of major champions and their relatives, the tournament promises to deliver exciting and memorable moments on the course. As the countdown to the 2024 edition begins, golf enthusiasts can look forward to watching some of the sport’s biggest names compete in a fun and relaxed atmosphere at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando.
