Costa Navarino recently concluded its golf season in style with the AEGEAN Messinia Pro-Am 2024, where 50 teams from 21 countries gathered at the scenic southwest Peloponnese in Greece. The destination, which won five prestigious awards at the World Golf Awards 2024, including ‘World’s Best Golf Venue’ and “World’s Best Clubhouse”, provided the perfect backdrop for the international event. Participants had the opportunity to play on three of the destination’s four signature golf courses from November 20-24, including The Dunes Course, The Hills Course, and the International Olympic Academy Golf Course.
Sanctioned by the Confederation of Professional Golf, with the support of the Hellenic Golf Federation and the PGA of Greece, the 54-hole pro-am event saw golfers from around the world come together for a fun and entertaining competition. 2024 champion Manuel Morugan emerged victorious in the professional event with a winning score of level par. The Team Pro-Am Event was equally competitive, with Team Nikopoulos from Greece taking top honors.
Apart from the golf tournament, players and their families enjoyed a rich program of social events, including a themed rock ‘n’ roll evening and a dinner and prize-giving ceremony. AEGEAN, the title sponsor, provided special airline ticket fares for participants, complimentary transportation for golf bags, and complimentary air tickets for participating professionals. The tournament was also supported by gold sponsors such as Alpha Private Bank and Athens International Airport, as well as other sponsors including AerCap, Pratt & Whitney, and Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Greece.
The event also included activities like a themed rock ‘n’ roll evening and a dinner and prize-giving ceremony co-hosted by Ian Randell and Aston Ward of the Confederation of Professional Golf. Sponsors such as TESLA sponsored the ‘Hole-in-one’ trophy, while other companies like Vodafone Business, Korres, and TaylorMade also supported the tournament.
