The 2024 Troon Access Grass League Championship has kicked off with 44 two-person teams competing at the Grass Clippings Rolling Hills golf course in Tempe, Arizona. Located just minutes away from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and Arizona State University, this 36-hole scramble event is set to take place on December 5-6. The first round started under the lights on Thursday evening, followed by an after-party featuring live music and food trucks on the event lawn.

Rolling Hills Golf Course, which first opened almost seven decades ago, recently underwent a significant renovation to become the first fully lit 18-hole golf course in Arizona. Reopened in December 2023, the course now operates as a par-63 layout during the day and an all-par-3, par-54 venue at night. With illuminated artificial turf tee boxes, golfers can enjoy playing under the stars and the lights from about 80 LED lights strategically placed around the course.

The night-time yardages at Grass Clippings Rolling Hills range from 100 to nearly 200 yards, providing a challenging experience for participants. The course features multiple elevation changes and elevated tee boxes, offering stunning views of downtown Tempe, downtown Phoenix, and incoming airplanes descending into the nearby airport. The unique setting combined with the thrill of playing golf at night creates a one-of-a-kind experience for golf enthusiasts.

The 2024 Troon Access Grass League Championship brings together golfers of all skill levels for a fun and competitive event. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their abilities on the fully lit course while enjoying the camaraderie of the tournament atmosphere. The championship format adds an extra layer of excitement as teams compete head-to-head for the chance to claim victory and earn recognition for their performance.

As the tournament progresses, spectators and players alike can enjoy the picturesque views and exciting gameplay that the Grass Clippings Rolling Hills golf course has to offer. From challenging holes to scenic overlooks, the course provides a memorable backdrop for the competition. With live music and food trucks adding to the festivities, the championship promises an entertaining experience for all involved.

In addition to the competitive aspect of the tournament, the 2024 Troon Access Grass League Championship serves as a celebration of golf and community. Bringing together golfers from across the region, the event showcases the passion and dedication that players have for the game. Whether participating in the tournament or supporting from the sidelines, attendees can appreciate the thrill of competition and the joy of being part of a shared experience.
