Nelly Korda had a standout season in 2024, winning seven LPGA events including her second major title at the Chevron Championship. This remarkable performance nearly doubled her career wins to 15 and earned her the title of World No. 1. As a result, Korda found herself among the top 10 highest-paid female athletes of 2024, with estimated earnings of $14.4 million. This impressive sum included $4.4 million in on-course earnings and the rest from lucrative endorsements.

One of the top female earners in sports for 2024 was Coco Gauff, a 20-year-old American tennis player, who raked in over $30 million in total earnings. Gauff’s success on the court, paired with endorsements, far surpassed Korda’s earnings for the year. In addition to Korda and Gauff, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark also made a significant impact in terms of endorsements, earning $11 million in 2024. Interestingly, male golfer Scottie Scheffler matched Korda’s seven victories on the men’s circuit but earned significantly more in on-course earnings, highlighting the disparity in prize money between men’s and women’s golf.

In addition to Korda, other female golfers also made a mark on the list of top female earners in sports. LPGA pro Jeeno Thitikul secured the 12th spot, largely due to her $4 million paycheck for winning the CME Group Tour Championship. Lydia Ko, a veteran LPGA star and Olympic gold medalist, also appeared on the list, earning $3.2 million on the course and $3.5 million off it. These women’s achievements demonstrate their prowess on the golf course and their ability to secure lucrative endorsement deals in a highly competitive market.

It is essential to recognize the success of female athletes in sports and the financial rewards they can attain through their hard work and dedication. While there may still be disparities in earnings between male and female athletes, the achievements of players like Nelly Korda, Coco Gauff, and Caitlin Clark showcase the growing opportunities for women in sports. As the popularity of women’s sports continues to rise, we can expect to see more female athletes breaking records and earning substantial incomes both on and off the field.

The accolades and earnings of these female athletes are not only a testament to their talent and determination but also a reflection of the changing landscape of sports. With increased visibility and support for women’s sports, athletes like Nelly Korda and Coco Gauff are paving the way for future generations of female athletes to excel and thrive in their respective fields. By highlighting their successes and financial achievements, we can inspire and empower more women to pursue their dreams in sports and strive for greatness on and off the field.
