Idaho is home to some of the best golf courses in the United States. GOLF’s Course Raters have identified the top courses in every state as part of their rankings for the Top 100 Courses in the U.S. and Top 100 Courses You Can Play. Among the best golf courses in Idaho is Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club in Harrison, designed by Tom Fazio. This course overlooks Lake Coeur d’Alene and plays through majestic pines and black rock outcroppings to some of the most scenic green complexes in golf.

The layout of Gozzer Ranch features two drivable par-4s, a collection of memorable par-3s, and a brilliant back nine that captivates players with the beauty of the Pacific northwest. The 15th hole, in particular, stands out with its 431-yard par-4 that offers stunning views of the distant lake and mountains. Other top golf courses in Idaho include The Tributary in Driggs, The Club at Black Rock in Coeur d’Alene, Circling Raven Golf Club in Worley, and Blue Lakes Country Club in Jerome.

GOLF’s ratings process for their course rankings involved a panel of over 100 expert raters who were provided a ballot with 609 courses to consider. The panelists ranked the courses in various buckets based on their preferences and experiences, resulting in an average score for each course that determined their final rankings. The panelists come from diverse backgrounds and have played golf courses all over the world, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the ratings process.

The ranking process is intentionally simple and straightforward to produce results that are widely lauded within the golf community. The key to the process is the experience and expertise of the panelists, who have a keen eye for golf course architecture regionally and globally. With handicaps ranging from +5 to 15, the panelists bring a variety of perspectives to the rankings to ensure that no single opinion carries the day.

In addition to the Top 100 Courses in the U.S. rankings, GOLF also ranks courses in various categories such as the Top 100 You Can Play, Top 100 Value Courses, America’s Best Municipal Courses, and the 100 Best Short Courses in the World. Golf enthusiasts can explore these rankings on GOLF’s website and use their Course Finder tool to plan their next golfing trip based on their preferences and budget.

For golfers looking to improve their game, GOLF’s affiliate GolfLogix offers custom Green Books to help players navigate the greens at their home course. These detailed guides provide valuable insights into the slopes and breaks of the greens, enabling players to make more informed decisions during their rounds. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a novice, having a Green Book can significantly enhance your performance on the golf course.

Overall, Idaho remains one of golf’s most sought-after vacation spots with its unique and picturesque golf courses that cater to players of all skill levels. Whether you’re looking for a challenging championship course or a scenic resort layout, Idaho has something to offer every golfer. By exploring GOLF’s course rankings and utilizing their Course Finder tool, you can plan the ultimate golf trip to Idaho and experience the best that the state has to offer in terms of golfing excellence.
