When it comes to golf courses, the Plantation Course at Kapalua is a beloved destination for both the PGA Tour and casual golfers. As part of GOLF’s comprehensive ratings process for their Top 100 Courses in the U.S. and Top 100 Courses You Can Play rankings, a team of more than 100 expert panelists identified the best golf courses in every state. The rankings cover a wide range of golf courses, including public courses, private clubs, value courses, and more. Golf enthusiasts can use GOLF’s Course Finder tool to plan their next golf trip, taking advantage of the extensive list of top-rated courses.

In Hawaii, some of the top golf courses include Nanea in Kailua-Kona, which is a private course designed by David McLay Kidd. The course offers stunning ocean panoramic views and features unique design elements that blend the beauty of Hawaii with the challenges of golf. Other notable courses in Hawaii include Kapalua – Plantation in Lahaina, Manele Golf Course in Lanai City, and Mauna Kea Golf Course in Waimea. Each course offers a different golfing experience, from challenging layouts to picturesque landscapes.

GOLF’s course rankings are carefully curated by their panel of expert golfers from around the world. Each panelist was provided with a ballot that included a list of 609 courses, which were divided into 11 categories or “buckets” based on their rankings. Panelists were tasked with ranking the courses based on their personal experiences and expertise in golf course architecture. The rankings are calculated based on the average scores given by the panelists, ensuring a fair and balanced representation of the best golf courses.

The key to GOLF’s rankings lies in the diversity and experience of their panelists, who hail from 15 different countries and have played courses all over the world. Their collective knowledge and expertise in golf course architecture make them uniquely qualified to assess and rank golf courses with accuracy. With handicaps ranging from +5 to 15, the panelists bring a wide range of perspectives to the rankings, ensuring that no single opinion dominates the process.

GOLF’s ranking process is intentionally simple and straightforward to ensure that the results are widely respected and accepted within the golfing community. By incorporating the opinions and experiences of a diverse group of panelists, GOLF is able to create rankings that reflect the best golf courses in the U.S. and around the world. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a casual player, GOLF’s rankings can help you discover new and exciting golfing destinations to explore.

For golfers looking to improve their game at their home course, GOLF offers custom Green Books through their affiliate GolfLogix. These personalized guides can help golfers navigate the greens and make informed decisions on the course. With GOLF’s comprehensive rankings and resources, golf enthusiasts can enhance their golfing experience and discover new courses to challenge their skills. Whether you’re planning a golf trip or seeking to better understand your home course, GOLF’s rankings and tools are invaluable resources for golfers of all levels.
