Golf-ball manufacturers are constantly striving to improve their products to meet the demands of players, and Mizuno is no exception. With their new Pro X and Pro S golf balls, Mizuno focused on enhancing feel and speed for golfers of all levels. By altering the dimple profile of the balls, Mizuno was able to increase speed while maintaining control around the green.

One of the key features of the Mizuno Pro X and Pro S golf balls is their soft feel and increased speed. Mizuno’s head of product, Chris Voshall, explains that the new balls offer a balance of feel and precision, allowing players to maintain ball speed while also experiencing a softer touch on shots. This combination is achieved through a thinner cover and thicker mantle layer, resulting in improved performance off the tee and on approach shots.

Both the Pro X and Pro S models feature 332 Axial Flow dimples, which reduce air resistance and drag to provide a stable and consistent ball flight in varying conditions. Mizuno made adjustments to the dimple profile to enhance the overall look and feel of the balls, making them more appealing to players who value precision and control in their game.

The Mizuno Pro S and Pro X golf balls cater to different player preferences when it comes to spin rate and trajectory. The Pro S offers low long-game spin and moderate short-game spin, ideal for players who prefer a mid-trajectory and excellent control. On the other hand, the Pro X is designed for golfers who want mid-spin in their long game and moderate spin in their short game, producing a higher trajectory for a steeper landing angle on shots.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Mizuno Pro S and Pro X golf balls will retail for $47.99 per dozen and will be released on January 22. Whether you’re looking to improve your performance on the course or upgrade your golf bag for 2025, the Mizuno Pro X and Pro S balls offer a combination of speed, control, and feel that appeal to a wide range of players.
