After a strong showing at the promotions event, former amateur No.1 now joins LIV Golf Reserve squad

US pro Ollie Schniederjans has announced that he will be playing as a LIV Golf reserve player in the 2025 season, in addition to competing on the Asian Tour. The 31-year-old golfer confirmed the news on social media, expressing his excitement for the upcoming opportunities. Schniederjans, known for his distinctive no-hat look, made a name for himself when he finished T12 at the 2015 Open before turning professional.

After earning his PGA Tour card following his first Korn Ferry Tour season and holding status on the PGA Tour from 2017 to 2019, Schniederjans struggled to establish himself on the tour. Following a disappointing finish outside the top 150 in the FedEx Cup standings in the 2018/19 season, he returned to the developmental Korn Ferry Tour, where he has been competing since. Despite his potential, Schniederjans failed to secure a PGA Tour card following the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season, finishing well below the required ranking.

In December, Schniederjans participated in a LIV Golf Promotions event where the winner would earn a contract on the lucrative LIV Golf circuit. While he finished fourth in the tournament, he was encouraged by his performance and decided to pursue a career with LIV Golf. Seeing examples like Ben Campbell, who earned a full-time contract on the circuit despite not winning the event, further motivated Schniederjans to join the league.

Former LIV Golf reserve player Ben Campbell will be playing on the circuit full-time in the 2025 season after impressing with his performance in both LIV Golf and Asian Tour events. Despite finishing third in the International Series standings, Campbell secured a full-time contract based on his performance throughout the season. His success serves as inspiration for players like Schniederjans, who now have the opportunity to compete on the high-profile LIV Golf circuit.

By joining LIV Golf as a reserve player, Schniederjans leaves behind the possibility of returning to the PGA Tour for the time being. However, he now has the chance to showcase his talent on a global stage and potentially earn a full-time contract through his performances in the upcoming season. Schniederjans will be looking to make an impact whenever he gets the opportunity to compete in LIV Golf events, hoping to secure his spot for the 2026 season.
