Srixon is introducing a new offering in the distance iron category, the ZXi4, which aims to provide power and forgiveness for golfers. This iron is designed with hollow-bodied technology, featuring an ‘i-FORGED’ body made from SUS17-47 steel and a face material of HT1770 to provide a softer feel. The addition of mainframe technology saves weight and adds MOI through milled channels on the iron face, resulting in a ball speed boost.

The ZXi4 incorporates the Tour V.T. sole, offering various widths, bounce angles, and notches to provide a smooth experience across different ground conditions. Visually, the iron features a combination of shiny chrome and a matte finish on the face, creating a high-end look. Despite being appealing to higher handicap players, the iron has a ‘player’ look behind the ball with a forgiving design. With a predominant measured offset, the ZXi4 has a subtle appearance that appeals to better players.

In terms of performance, the ZXi4 irons deliver impressive distance with a soft impact sensation and minimal harshness. The loft increments of the irons may cause concerns for some players, as they lack uniformity and have significant gaps in loft between clubs. This could lead to issues with distance consistency for players with moderate swing speeds.

Despite the loft concerns, the ZXi4 irons produce decent launch numbers and descent angles, allowing players to hold greens effectively. The Tour V.T. sole enhances ground interaction in various conditions, making the iron versatile and optimal for game improvement. Overall, the ZXi4 impresses with its looks and feel, making it a solid option for golfers looking for power and forgiveness.

For those interested in purchasing the ZXi4 Irons, it is recommended to undergo a custom fitting to ensure proper gapping, especially at the top end of the bag. The ZXi4 Irons will retail for £999 for a 6-piece steel set and £1,099 for a graphite shaft set. With its impressive technology, design, and performance, the ZXi4 has the potential to be among the best golf irons of 2025.
