Danny Walker’s impressive performance at the Farmers Insurance Open caught the attention of golf fans as he managed to hit all 18 greens in regulation during the first round. This rare achievement has only been accomplished 11 times on the South Course at Torrey Pines, with the last occurrence in 2019. Despite not taking the lead, Walker’s round was a standout moment for the recent Korn Ferry Tour graduate participating in just his fourth PGA Tour event.

At 29 years old, Walker finished 28th in the Korn Ferry Tour standings to earn his PGA Tour card for the first time. After missing the cut in his previous two events, Walker is starting to settle into his new role on the PGA Tour. His impressive display on the South Course, which was playing much harder than the North Course, demonstrates his potential as a rising star in the golf world. Walker’s strategy of relaxing and focusing on each shot paid off, leading to a strong round in challenging conditions.

As Walker sits just two shots behind the leader after the first round, he is in a strong position to make a significant impact at the Farmers Insurance Open. Despite playing the tougher course first, Walker’s performance has put him in contention for a successful week. His journey to the PGA Tour involved struggling on mini tours and contemplating giving up the game three years ago. However, after persevering and earning his breakthrough last year, Walker is now making a name for himself on the PGA Tour.

Walker’s previous experience on the PGA Tour at the 2020 Bermuda Championship resulted in a missed cut, but he has shown significant progress in his rookie season. With a strong start at the Farmers Insurance Open, Walker has the opportunity to continue his success and potentially contend for his first PGA Tour victory. By focusing on relaxation and enjoyment on the course, Walker has found a winning formula that could lead to further achievements in his golf career.

With his recent success at the Farmers Insurance Open, Walker is positioning himself as a player to watch in the future of professional golf.
