Review of the Golf Pride Align Max Grip

Golf Pride is a well-known name in the golf industry, particularly when it comes to golf grips. With more than 80 per cent of the world’s touring professionals choosing to play with Golf Pride grips, the brand has established itself as a leader in the market. One of the company’s recent successes has been the Align series of grips, and for 2025, they have introduced the Align Max grip. This new grip takes the Align concept to the next level by maximizing the protrusion of the ridge section, lengthening the area the rib covers, and making the ridge rubber firmer than before.

The Align Max grip features a prominent spine or ridge along the back, providing a point of reference for finger placement at address and clubface alignment throughout the swing. This enhanced ridge on the Align Max grip offers players a heightened awareness of the clubface orientation during the swing, resulting in improved dispersion and straighter shots. The firmer ridge also makes it easier for club builders and PGA Professionals to install the grip consistently and accurately, as it holds its shape and alignment more stoutly.

For players who prefer ribbed grips or struggle with consistent hand placement and facial awareness, the Align Max grip could be a game changer. It is available in standard and Plus4 models in both standard and midsize sizing, initially only in the Multi Compound finish. However, Golf Pride plans to introduce a Tour Velvet option for the Align Max grip in 2026. The Align Max grip is designed to offer players a heightened level of control and precision during their swings, ultimately leading to improved performance on the golf course.

The Align Max grip has been tested and proven to provide players with a more pronounced ridge and firmer feel compared to the original Align grip. While some players may need time to adjust to the increased prominence of the ridge, many find that it enhances their clubface orientation throughout the swing, leading to more accurate shots. The Align Max grip is also designed to be easy for club builders and PGA Professionals to install, thanks to its firm ridge that holds its shape and alignment more securely.

Overall, the introduction of the Align Max grip from Golf Pride makes a lot of sense for players who prefer ribbed grips and struggle with consistent hand placement and clubface awareness. By offering a grip with a more pronounced ridge and firmer feel, Golf Pride is providing players with a valuable tool to improve their performance on the golf course. Whether you are a professional golfer or a weekend warrior, the Align Max grip could be a game-changing addition to your golf equipment.
