Ludvig Aberg, a 25-year-old Swede, made a bold move before the final round of the Genesis Invitational by switching drivers from a Titleist GT2 to an older Titleist TSR2. This decision paid off as he shot a 66 on Sunday to come from two shots behind and win his second PGA Tour title. Aberg used a Fujikura Ventus Black 6-X shaft with both drivers and previously won his first Signature Event title using a mix of Titleist, TaylorMade, and Odyssey gear along with the new 2025 Titleist Pro V1x golf ball he started using at the Sentry Tournament.

Aberg’s bag also includes a TaylorMade Stealth 2 3-wood (14.75˚) with a Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 8-X shaft and a TaylorMade Stealth 2 7-wood (21˚@19˚) with a Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 9-X shaft. These specs show the equipment Aberg used to achieve success in the Genesis Invitational. His ability to adapt and make changes, such as switching drivers, showcases his skill and intuition on the course.

The decision to switch drivers before the final round demonstrates Aberg’s confidence in his equipment and his willingness to make strategic adjustments. By sticking with his Fujikura Ventus Black 6-X shaft across both drivers, Aberg maintained consistency in his swing and performance. This calculated move allowed him to capitalize on his strengths and ultimately secure the win.

Aberg’s win at the Genesis Invitational highlights the importance of having the right equipment tailored to a player’s specific needs and preferences. His choice to use a mix of brands, including Titleist, TaylorMade, and Odyssey, showcases his versatility and ability to optimize his game. By incorporating the latest Titleist Pro V1x golf ball into his bag, Aberg stayed ahead of the curve and harnessed the technology needed to compete at the highest level.

In golf, equipment plays a significant role in a player’s performance, and Aberg’s success serves as a testament to the impact of proper gear selection. His victory at a prestigious PGA Tour Signature event like the Genesis Invitational solidifies his position as a rising star in the world of professional golf. Aberg’s dedication to refining his equipment setup and making strategic decisions, such as driver changes, sets him apart as a player who is willing to take risks in pursuit of victory.
