The Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass is a hidden gem overshadowed by its famous sibling, the Stadium Course. Designed by Pete Dye, the Valley Course features similar challenging features such as railroad ties, pot bunkers, and water hazards. Hosting multiple KornFerry Tour events, this first-rate layout offers a great alternative to the Stadium Course for those looking for a premium golf experience at a more affordable price.

Jacksonville Beach Golf Course is a seaside municipal course located just blocks from the beach and less than 10 miles from TPC Sawgrass. With weekend rates topping out at $67, this unassuming course offers a high-quality golf experience at a fraction of the price of other premium courses in the area. It is truly one of the best value courses in the Sunshine State.

Hyde Park Golf Course, the oldest public course in Jacksonville, offers a historic golf experience designed by Donald Ross. With strategic doglegs, pushed-up greens, and a scenic setting with stately oaks and pines, a round at Hyde Park feels like a step back in time to the Golden Age of golf. At just over 6,400 yards, it provides a challenging yet enjoyable gameplay for golfers of all skill levels.

The Yards is a unique 12-hole course with a 3-hole ‘beer loop’ that offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere for golfers looking for a casual game. Located within a sports complex that also offers tennis and pickleball, The Yards provides a great opportunity to enjoy a leisurely round of golf while also engaging in other sports activities.

For those willing to extend their radius about an hour south of Jacksonville, Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa offers two 18-hole courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. The Ocean Course and the Conservatory Course provide a seaside golf experience that showcases the talents of these legendary golf course architects.

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa features the Oak Marsh Golf Course, a Pete Dye design that winds through salt marshes on Amelia Island. Currently under renovation and set to reopen in May, Oak Marsh provides a challenging and picturesque golf experience for guests of the resort. Additionally, the resort offers two other courses, Little Sandy and Long Point, providing a variety of golfing options for visitors.

In conclusion, Jacksonville and the surrounding area offer a diverse range of golf courses for players of all skill levels. From premium championship courses like the Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass to historic municipal courses like Hyde Park Golf Course and unique options like The Yards, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you are looking for a challenging round of golf or a more relaxed experience, Jacksonville has numerous options to choose from, making it a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts.
