PGA Tour pro Wesley Bryan has been suspended by the PGA Tour for participating in a LIV Golf influencer event, causing a stir in the golf world. The PGA Tour does not comment on suspensions, but Bryan himself confirmed the suspension and plans to appeal the decision. Despite the setback, Bryan remains grateful for the opportunities he has had on the PGA Tour over the past several years and is hopeful that this suspension will not mark the end of his professional golf career.

Bryan competed in “The Duels: Miami” at LIV Golf’s Miami stop, which aired on popular YouTube content creator Grant Horvat’s channel and garnered over 2 million views. The event featured a unique format where six LIV players teamed up with six YouTube content creators for a nine-hole scramble, offering a $250,000 purse. The event was ultimately won by Sergio Garcia and George Bryan, Wesley’s brother. Bryan, who has conditional status on the PGA Tour, has played in three PGA Tour events this season and currently ranks 169th in the FedEx Cup standings.

Last month, Bryan and his brother George participated in the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass, an event organized as part of the Tour’s Creator Council initiative. The Creator Council aims to increase fan engagement by partnering with popular content creators or brands, and Bryan Bros Golf was among the chosen participants. However, Bryan’s decision to compete in the LIV Golf event has resulted in his suspension by the PGA Tour, which has been adamant about its stance on members participating in LIV events without a deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

Despite the suspension, Wesley Bryan has had a successful career on the PGA Tour, with one win in 134 career starts and over $5 million in career earnings. He has also achieved three victories in 22 Korn Ferry Tour starts, showcasing his talent and potential in professional golf. As Bryan navigates this challenging situation and goes through the appeal process, the golf community waits to see what the future holds for the talented pro and his professional golf career.
