Discovering the L.A.B. Golf Outlet: Affordable Excellence in Putting

Hey there, fellow golf lovers! You might not believe it, but I’ve officially joined the ranks of L.A.B. Golf enthusiasts. And no, that doesn’t mean I’ve traded my casual threads for a lab coat! I’ve completely bought into the whole L.A.B. vibe, and let me tell you—it’s been quite the ride. You see, I recently ventured into the world of Lie Angle Balanced golf putters, and I have to say, the experience has been a game-changer.

Now, for those who might not be in the loop, L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balanced technology (see what they did there?). I had dabbled with a couple of their models before, but I wasn’t completely sold on the feel. Friends of mine had achieved some serious putting epiphanies, but I was just left feeling “meh.” I initially put these putters in the “never again” pile, favoring more traditional flatsticks. But then I stumbled upon the OZ.1i putter, and my curiosity was officially piqued.

After a remote fitting and a slight dent in my wallet, I became the proud owner of a TPT-shafted charcoal OZ.1i. Let me just say, it took a hot second to get used to this quirky little gadget. L.A.B. calls it a “torque hangover,” and trust me, I’ve had worse hangovers! After years of battling torque, a stack of practice drills got me sorted out. Fast forward to today, and I’m sinking way more putts than I ever did last year.

The Dilemma: A Golf Lover’s Plight

Now, here comes the plot twist. Like any self-respecting golf gear junkie, I’ve found myself with a bit of a wandering eye. But here’s the kicker: my budget isn’t exactly limitless. After shelling out some serious cash for the OZ, I suddenly found myself craving more L.A.B. gear. Ironically, that left me with a dilemma.

A little context about my putting style: I putt with my eyes on the target, also known as “heads up.” If you’re curious, just look up “Sasho MacKenzie” and “heads up putting.” This method has some solid backing, but it also makes me think about how forgiving my putter needs to be since I’m not even looking at the ball!

Browsing through the L.A.B. lineup, the OZ putter offered decent forgiveness, but it wasn’t exactly the king of the hill. That title goes to the flagship DF 2.1 putter—the one that honestly looks like a branding iron. (Not that it isn’t cool in its own right!). While I wasn’t ready to fully embrace the aesthetics of that model, the DF 3 really caught my eye and seemed like a perfect fit.

Enter the L.A.B. Golf Outlet

So, how do I snag one of these beauties without going broke? Drumroll, please… let me introduce you to the L.A.B. Golf Outlet! This gem of a site is directly tied to L.A.B. Golf and specializes in selling “factory-second putters.”

What’s a factory-second putter, you ask? According to the outlet’s FAQ, these are putters that come from returned items and “blemish parts.” The best part? These imperfections are only visual and won’t affect performance one bit. They’re just trying to say that any cosmetic flaws won’t hinder your putting game—just a little extra flair if you will!

Dollar Stretching: Outlet Shopping

Alright, so here’s the scoop: they carry all the models you’ve drooled over. But here’s the catch—you might not find your exact specs, including color or shaft. Outlet shopping is all about luck and a pinch of patience. Use the site’s filters to sort by model, length, lie angle, and more.

During my first search, I struck gold. I landed a platinum DF 3 in my specs with an Accra shaft and the Press Pistol grip—just like my beloved OZ. And it was still sitting there a week later! If that’s not fate, I don’t know what is. The original price tag from L.A.B.? A whopping $659. From the outlet? Just $545! Not exactly peanuts, but definitely a solid discount in my book.

What About That Outlet Putters?

I’m not gonna lie; when I pulled the trigger on the outlet purchase, I had my jitters. Sure, I was willing to compromise, but I was low-key worried about the blemishes they mentioned. So, you can imagine my delight when I unboxed my DF 3 and found… nothing wrong!

Having already dealt with L.A.B.’s main site, I can tell you the shipping and packaging is top-notch. Right down to the box telling me to “untorque” myself! I examined the putter from top to bottom looking for any flaws, and guess what? Three weeks in, and I still haven’t found anything!

Surprising Shifts: Out with the Old, in with the New

Here’s the deal: my factory-second DF 3 has officially booted my OZ.1i out of my bag. Don’t get me wrong; I still love the OZ. But the DF 3’s aluminum face paired with the Accra shaft creates an incredibly soft feel that’s just unbeatable. After running some tests, the DF 3 emerged as the clear champ, leaving my OZ as just a fancy backup.

Outlet Shopping Tips: Play It Smart

So, you’re ready to dive into the L.A.B. Golf Outlet, huh? Not so fast! Remember, the magic of L.A.B. lies in its Lie Angle Balanced technology. You need to find a putter that matches your specific lie angle for the torque-free experience.

This brings us to Rule #1: Make absolutely sure you get fitted, outlet or not! Luckily, L.A.B. offers free remote fittings, and you can even find a link on their outlet site. Armed with your fitting results, you can shop confidently and ensure your putter will truly up your game.

Rule #2: Patience is key. Remember, you’re shopping from a selection of putters already built. If your fitting says you need a 69-degree lie angle, you’re golden! But if you have unique specs like me (I’m at a 75-degree angle), you’ll need some time to find the right fit.

Final Thoughts: Score Big with L.A.B.

If you haven’t noticed, L.A.B. Golf putters are all over the place, and for good reason. The rise of zero-torque options from other manufacturers serves as testament to their innovation. When it comes to outlet putters, they’re essentially the same quality minus aesthetic flaws.

So there you have it, folks—a stellar opportunity to grab some top-of-the-line gear without breaking the bank. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, the L.A.B. Golf Outlet is a solid option. Get your putter game on, and you’ll be smiling on the green in no time—trust me on that!

Ready to level up your golf game? Go on, hit that L.A.B. Golf Outlet and see what treasures you can find! 🏌️‍♂️✨
