New Jersey is a golfing paradise for enthusiasts looking for a wide range of courses to challenge their skills. One must-play course is Somerset Hills, a unique masterpiece designed by Tillingshurst that requires a member’s introduction. Ridgewood Country Club, host of the 1935 Ryder Cup and more recent PGA Tour events, offers a challenging 27-hole facility with tight, tree-lined corridors and fast greens. Plainfield Country Club and Mountain Ridge Country Club are gems designed by Donald Ross, with Plainfield being one of the oldest clubs in the US restored by Gil Hanse.

For those looking for modern marvels, Liberty National and Bayonne offer awe-inspiring designs with stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. Galloway National, the Ridge at Back Brook, and Trump Bedminster are also must-play courses for golfers seeking a challenge. Union League National in Cape May Court House is a bold redesign of the Sand Barrens, offering a top nationally ranked course within New Jersey’s borders.

Crystal Springs Golf & Spa Resort in Hamburg provides golf with panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains. Visitors can also explore the USGA Museum and Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History in Clementon, showcasing a collection of golf artifacts and memorabilia. Off the golf course, New Jersey offers 130 miles of sandy beaches for a perfect beach holiday, with popular destinations like Atlantic City, Wildwoods, and Ocean City providing entertainment, dining, and water sports options.

Surfers can enjoy some of the best surfing on the East Coast in New Jersey, with towns like Manasquan, Belmar, and Seaside Heights offering great waves. Family-friendly options include Long Beach Island, Wildwoods, Point Pleasant Beach, and Ocean City. For a quieter beach experience, Spring Lake, Ocean Grove, and Stone Harbor offer a more serene stay. Cape May, with its Victorian homes turned into boutique bed & breakfasts, and the small towns of Barnegat Light and Harvey Cedars provide a laid-back island getaway.

Atlantic City is known as the entertainment capital of New Jersey, with a rich history of music venues hosting big acts like Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Live music events and festivals take place throughout the state, including the TidalWave Music Festival in Atlantic City and Sea.Hear.Now in Asbury Park. Sports fans can catch American football games at Met Life Stadium, home to the New York Giants and New York Jets, and also host to big music concerts. With so much to offer, planning a holiday in New Jersey is a sure way to experience both golfing and off-course attractions.
