Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy recently won the PGA Tour’s 2024 Zurich Classic, showcasing an impressive collection of golf equipment. Let’s take a closer look at the gear that helped these two players secure victory.

Shane Lowry utilized a Srixon ZX5 MkII driver with an 8.5-degree loft and a Mitsubishi Diamana White D+ 70 TYX shaft. He also relied on a TaylorMade M5 fairway wood with a 19-degree loft and a Graphite Design Tour AD DI-8 X shaft. Lowry’s iron set included a Srixon ZX Utility 3 iron, ZX5 Mk II 4 iron, ZX5 MkII 5 iron, and ZX7 Mk II 6-PW, all equipped with various high-quality shafts. For wedges, Lowry chose Cleveland RTX6 50 and 54-degree wedges, as well as an RTX ZipCore Full Face 58-degree wedge, each with KNS Tour Custom X shafts. His putter of choice was the TaylorMade Spider Tour Z, and he played with a Srixon Z-Star XV golf ball.

On the other hand, Rory McIlroy’s winning equipment included a TaylorMade Qi10 driver with a 9-degree loft and a Fujikura Ventus Black 6X shaft. McIlroy’s fairway woods were also from TaylorMade, with a Qi10 15-degree model and an 18-degree version, both paired with Fujikura Ventus Black shafts. His iron set consisted of TaylorMade P Series Proto 4 iron and RORS proto 5-9 irons, each with Project X 7.0 shafts. McIlroy’s wedge selection featured TaylorMade MG4 46 and 50-degree wedges, along with a Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks 58-degree wedge bent to 59 degrees, all equipped with Project X 6.5 shafts. He putted with the TaylorMade Spider Tour X model and played with a TaylorMade TP5x golf ball.

Both players chose grips that suited their playing styles, with Lowry opting for Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips for his full swing clubs and a SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol 1.0 grip for his putter. McIlroy, on the other hand, used Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound grips for his full swing clubs and a SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol Tour grip for his putter.

Overall, the success of Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy at the 2024 Zurich Classic can be attributed not only to their skill and talent but also to the high-quality golf equipment they used. By carefully selecting clubs, shafts, wedges, putters, balls, and grips that suited their playing styles and preferences, both players were able to perform at their best and ultimately secure victory. Whether you’re a professional golfer or a passionate amateur, investing in top-notch equipment can make a significant difference in your game. So, take a cue from Lowry and McIlroy, and choose the best golf gear that fits your needs and helps you play your best on the course.
