A Beginner’s Guide to Playing “Wolf” – A Fun and Strategic Golf Betting Game

When it comes to playing golf, most people stick to the standard four-ball match play format. However, there are other fun and exciting golf games out there to try, one of them being Wolf. This game is a great way to shake things up on the course and add some complexity to your Saturday game. If you’re interested in learning more about Wolf and how to play it, keep reading.

Wolf can be played with just three players, but it works best with a standard foursome. This game is perfect for groups looking to break from the norm, golfers who enjoy strategy, and those who like to add an element of gambling to their game. The basic premise of Wolf is that one player becomes the “Wolf” on each hole, and they have the option to go it alone or choose a partner from the group.

To play Wolf, you first need to establish an order on the first tee, which will rotate throughout the round. There are no honors in Wolf, and the player who is the Wolf on each hole changes as the round progresses. The Wolf can choose to go it alone at any point on the tee box, before or after hitting their tee shot, or they can partner up with another player for that hole.

Scoring in Wolf can be customized based on what the group decides on the first tee. Generally, going it alone and winning the hole earns more points than partnering up and winning. Points are awarded based on the outcome of each hole, and the player with the most points at the end of 18 holes wins the game of Wolf. There are also variations of Wolf that allow for side bets and additional ways to accumulate points throughout the round.

In a three-man version of Wolf, the player who hits the second-best tee shot becomes the Wolf for that hole. This adds an extra layer of strategy to the game and keeps things interesting as players rotate through the roles of Wolf and partner. Overall, Wolf is a fun and engaging golf game that can add excitement to your regular weekend rounds. So next time you hit the course with your friends, consider mixing it up with a game of Wolf and see who comes out on top.
