Tiger Woods recently completed his latest comeback at the Hero World Challenge, finishing even par for 72 holes. This marked his first tournament since undergoing fusion surgery on his right ankle. Despite finishing 18th in the 20-man event, Woods expressed his excitement and satisfaction with his performance.

Woods highlighted his ability to play without incident or reinjury to his right leg, a significant step forward in his recovery process. He made 19 birdies throughout the week but was disappointed with the 15 bogeys and two double bogeys he incurred. He attributed his success to his improved driving ability, showcasing his power and ball speed despite the surgery and long layoff. One of the highlights of his performance was driving the green at the 307-yard 14th hole to set up a birdie.

Next on Woods’ agenda is the PNC Championship, where he will compete alongside his 14-year-old son Charlie. Following that, he plans to prepare for the 2024 season with the goal of competing once a month. Woods believes that with adequate recovery time and a focus on improving his physical shape, he can maintain a consistent playing schedule.

Looking ahead to his future tournaments, Woods remains optimistic about his ability to compete at a high level. He expressed confidence in his game and emphasized the importance of staying in good physical condition to support his performance. Despite some soreness following the Hero World Challenge, Woods believes that with proper rest and training, he can continue to compete regularly.

Overall, Woods’ performance at the Hero World Challenge marked a significant step in his recovery journey. He demonstrated his resilience and determination to return to competitive golf following his surgery. With a focus on improving his physical shape and maintaining a steady playing schedule, Woods is poised to continue his comeback and compete at a high level in future tournaments.
