Jon Rahm, a former PGA Tour player who now competes in LIV Golf, recently shared his perspective on the ongoing discussions between the Tour and LIV’s financiers, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Rahm emphasized that he is still a PGA Tour member and hopes for a resolution that benefits everyone involved. Despite playing full-time on LIV Golf, Rahm expressed his willingness to support the PGA Tour and participate in events if allowed and if they do not conflict with his schedule.

During a press conference ahead of the PGA Championship, Rahm discussed his desire to represent Team Europe in the Ryder Cup next year. The DP World Tour’s clarification that LIV players can serve suspensions while competing on the Saudi-backed league allows European players like Rahm to participate in the Ryder Cup if they meet certain requirements. Despite potential scheduling challenges due to his wife’s pregnancy, Rahm is committed to earning a spot on Team Europe in 2025.

Rahm also reflected on his preparations for the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, which has hosted prestigious events in the past. As a fan of watching old tournament highlights, Rahm engaged in a YouTube deep dive on Valhalla, recalling memorable moments from past championships. Despite some recent struggles, Rahm remains confident in his game and believes he is capable of competing at a high level, particularly after making some minor adjustments.

With a series of strong performances on LIV Golf this season, including multiple top-five finishes, Rahm is poised to contend for his third major championship title. While acknowledging that he did not play his best at the Masters last month, Rahm is optimistic about his current form and feels he is close to rediscovering his top-level game. As he prepares for the PGA Championship, Rahm’s focus is on finding his A-game and potentially adding another major title to his impressive resume.
