The highly anticipated 2024 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club will feature some of the top golfers in the world competing for the prestigious title. Scottie Scheffler, the current world No. 1 golfer, will be making his fourth appearance at the tournament, along with other notable players such as U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, Max Homa, Rickie Fowler, and Will Zalatoris.

Some of the confirmed players in the field include Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, and reigning champion Viktor Hovland, adding to the excitement and competitiveness of the tournament. Scheffler, who has had success at the Memorial in the past with top 25 finishes in each of his previous three appearances, boasts an impressive scoring average of 70.83, which is the fourth-best in tournament history.

In 2024, Scheffler’s impressive season includes wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Players Championship, the Masters, and the RBC Heritage. However, he recently faced a setback after being involved in a controversial incident at the PGA Championship where he was arrested by police on multiple charges, including assault of a police officer. Scheffler has since addressed the incident, expressing his desire to put it behind him and focus on his golf game moving forward.

Joining Scheffler at the Memorial will be Clark, who will be playing in his fifth tournament with a previous best finish of tied for 12th place in 2023. Homa, a six-time PGA Tour winner, will also be making his fifth appearance at the Memorial, where he has finished in the top 10 in both 2021 and 2022. Fowler, a fan-favorite, will be making his 15th consecutive start at the tournament, having finished in the top 25 seven times, with a tied for ninth finish in 2023. Zalatoris, a rising star on the tour, will be competing in his third Memorial after a strong fifth-place finish in 2022.

The Memorial Tournament is known for its limited field and 36-hole cut, ensuring that only the best of the best compete for the title. With a star-studded lineup and the presence of top-ranked players like Scheffler, the 2024 Memorial promises to be an exciting and competitive event that will no doubt captivate golf fans worldwide. Stay tuned for updates and coverage of this prestigious tournament as the world’s top golfers vie for glory on the legendary course at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
