In 2024, the PGA Tour will bring the RBC Canadian Open to Hamilton Golf and Country Club for the seventh time. The previous winners at this historic course include Rory McIlroy, Scott Piercy, Jim Furyk, Bob Tway, Tommy Armour, and James Douglas Edgar. Hamilton Golf and Country Club, a par-70 measuring 7,084 yards, boasts Bentgrass and Poa Annua blend greens and has been open since 1915, making it one of Canada’s oldest golf clubs. The course recently underwent an $8.5 million restoration guided by Martin Ebert.

The 156-player field for the RBC Canadian Open will feature notable golfers like Rory McIlroy, Sam Burns, Cameron Young, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala, and Alex Noren. With a model based on the Rabbit Hole by Betsperts Golf data engine, five key metrics are essential for analyzing performance at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. These include Strokes Gained: Approach, Good Drive %, Bogey Avoidance %, Strokes Gained: Total in Canada, and Strokes Gained: Putting over the past 24 rounds.

Player rankings based on these key statistics place Aaron Rai, Rory McIlroy, Sahith Theegala, Patton Kizzire, Justin Lower, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Alex Noren, Kelly Kraft, and Jhonnatan Vegas as top contenders for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. Among the recommended picks for the tournament are Tommy Fleetwood, Alex Noren, Sam Burns, and Robert MacIntyre, each presenting a unique blend of skills and recent form that could lead to success on the course.

Tommy Fleetwood, coming off a strong performance in last year’s Canadian Open, has shown consistency and an ability to perform well on shorter course layouts. Alex Noren’s recent strong season and steady play across multiple facets of the game make him a strong contender. Sam Burns, with a history of performing well in Canada and an ability to make birdies in bunches, could be a dark horse for the tournament. Robert MacIntyre’s solid putting and past success at notable courses provide him with a unique advantage going into the RBC Canadian Open.

As the PGA Tour heads to Hamilton Golf and Country Club for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, the stage is set for an exciting tournament featuring some of the top golfers in the world. With a mix of past champions, rising stars, and seasoned veterans in the field, the competition is expected to be fierce. The course’s unique layout and recent restoration add an additional layer of challenge for the players, creating an opportunity for those who can navigate it effectively to emerge victorious. Keep an eye on the recommended picks and the key statistical categories to track how the players perform throughout the tournament.
