The second annual Grant Thornton Invitational is set to take place at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples this week. This mixed-team event is part of the Challenge Season and will feature 16 teams, evenly comprised of PGA and LPGA players, competing for an equal $4 million purse. The tournament will be televised by the Golf Channel and NBC, and will include three distinct playing formats over the three-day event: scramble, foursome, and modified four-ball.
The field for the Grant Thornton Invitational includes 24 of the world’s top 50 ranked PGA Tour and LPGA golfers, such as Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, Lilia Vu, Jeeno Thitikul, Sahith Theegala, Billy Horschel, and Tony Finau. The event kicks off on Friday and runs through Sunday, with practice days on Monday and Tuesday and the Pro-Am on Wednesday and Thursday. Practice rounds and the Pro-Am are closed to the public.

The format of play for the tournament will include a scramble on Friday, alternate shot on Saturday, and modified four-ball on Sunday. The men’s yardage will be 7,382 yards while the women’s yardage will be 6,595 yards. With a total of 32 players in the field, the competition is sure to be fierce as the teams battle it out for a chance to claim the Grant Thornton Invitational title.
