Shane Lowry surprised everyone with a dominating win at the 2019 Royal Portrush tournament, after entering the event following four missed cuts. Lowry, an Irishman, outperformed his nearest competitor Tommy Fleetwood by six strokes in the first Open held in Northern Ireland in 68 years. Let’s take a look at the equipment Lowry used in his exceptional performance.

Lowry’s driver was a Srixon Z 585 with 9.5 degrees loft, paired with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 70 X shaft measuring 45.25 inches and tipped .75 inch, with a D3 swing weight. His 3-wood was a TaylorMade M4 with 15 degrees loft, using a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8 X shaft. For his irons, Lowry had a combination of Srixon ZU85, Z585, and Z785 clubs, with varying degrees of loft and different shafts such as Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro White Hybrid TX and KBS Tour 130 X.

In the wedge department, Lowry went with Cleveland RTX 4 wedges with 50 and 58 degrees of loft, equipped with KBS Tour Wedge X shafts. His putter of choice was an Odyssey Stroke Lab Exo 2-Ball, featuring a SuperStroke Traxion Pistol GT 1.0 grip customized with a shamrock design. Lowry used Srixon Z-Star XV golf balls and Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grips with the logo facing down.
